The power swing develops explosive leg strength. Basically you are strapped into a seat that resembles that found in a Mig 25 jet fighter, rather than the one found on your common or garden swing. As the wall approaches at light speed you have no option but to stick your legs out to prevent yourself disappearing it. You are supposed to cushion the impact and explosively push yourself back from the wall with your legs.
